The Vecht river is getting ready for its first visitors. Fishermen, armed with their fishing rod, comfortable chair and picnic basket, find their peace here during the early morning. Not much later, the first canoes also start exploring the Vechtdal from the water. Paddling along weirs, fish ladders and shippers' inns, they absorb the landscape.

This house is nearly 100 years old now. It was commissioned by Baron Bentinck and was not only beloved by locals but also frequented by the grandmother of King Willem-Alexander in the past!

The Sahara in the Vechtdal in Overijssel is a sand drift with an area of almost 50 acres. It is a wonderful place for families with children to build sandcastles or to play and roam around. But also great for a picnic on a blanket on the sand or at one of the picnic benches.

Are you a true gnome enthusiast? Then stroll along the Gnome Trail in Zandstuvebos in Vroomshoop. Along this walking route of approximately 1 km, you can discover various gnomes and animals. The Gnome Trail is open all day.

The Besthemerberg in Ommen is a 32-meter-high hill that originated in the last ice age. It is a beautiful hiking area with an observation tower that provides a stunning view of the surroundings.

Castle Eerde is located on the Eerde estate in the municipality of Ommen. Walk across the arched bridge over the outer moat to admire the castle. From the same bridge, a hiking trail begins through the nature surrounding Castle Eerde.

If you'd like to take a look at both the Archemerberg and Lemelerberg, walk the trail that passes through both beautiful nature reserves.

The Napoleon is the oldest cruise company in Hardenberg and its surroundings. Sail along with the cruise boat and explore the Vechtdal from the water. The skipper will be happy to tell you more about the surroundings.

If you want to learn more about the nature and animals of the Vechtdal, come to Nature Center de Koppel in Hardenberg. Here, you'll get to know the environment in a playful way.

Windmill "De Lelie" was built in 1846 and is still in use for grinding its own flour. Have you always wanted to know what the inside of a windmill looks like and how a miller operates? Then you've come to the right place at Windmill "De Lelie"!

At the blueberry farm "de Bessentuin," the harvest of raspberries, red and blueberries begins in June and July. The most enjoyable part is that you can come and pick your own fruit! After harvesting your own fruit, you can relax on the terrace and indulge in a blueberry treat.

Asparagus farm "Het Nijenhuis" has been cultivating asparagus since 1986! The farmer is happy to tell you everything about this vegetable. In addition, the farm shop offers a variety of delicious local products that are artisanally prepared by farm "Het Nijenhuis" or by other farmers from the area.

Museum de Fundatie is an art museum in Zwolle, focusing on visual arts. It houses a collection of visual art spanning from the late Middle Ages to the present day.

nterested in the rich history of this region? Then the Historical Museum Ommen is the perfect outing for the whole family. The museum offers an exhibition with numerous objects from the region for both young and old.

The station master takes you back in time and lets you discover everything about the history of the local railway. As the cherry on top, enjoy an unforgettable steam train ride. For the children, there is also a discovery tour with the station cat, teaching them all about (steam) trains.

Ever wondered how bicycles looked in the past and how they were made? Visit the Historical Bicycle Museum in Ommen to see an exhibition featuring a variety of bicycles throughout history.

Explore the most beautiful paintings and artworks in the museum, visit the inner garden, or enjoy a cup of coffee at the Museum Café.

From November 4, 2023, to February 4, 2024, the exhibition 'On the way to Bentheim: Twente through the eyes of Ruisdael, Hobbema, and Waterloo' will be on display. This focuses on landscapes on paper.

The Museumfabriek is the municipal museum of Enschede. In 2008, the museum was opened under the name 'TwentseWelle.' It emerged from the merger of a natural history museum, a textile museum, and a cultural-historical collection. Since 2016, efforts have been made to develop a plan aimed at bringing these three collections together more effectively and transforming the entire museum into the 'Museum of Wondrous Science.'
